چکیده

Purpose: The objective of this work was to evaluate methods charging urban drainage fees in order finance and guarantee the maintenance operation a network residential subdivision located city Rio de Janeiro.
 
 Theoretical framework: intense growth associated with process soil sealing areas has caused, over years, increase occurrence intensity disasters related floods, reduce capacity systems their optimal functioning.
 Method/design/approach: methodology study used three different calculate rate, through classification land use occupation values ​​for network, as: Equivalent Residential Unit (URE), Tucci method (2002) Cançado, Nascimento Cabral (2005).
 Results conclusion: ​​presented by entitled reached objectives selected determination impact generated possible collection fee, data from 2010 Census. per lot were R$262.35 year, total R$24,398.49, compatible ​​found for allotment Janeiro-RJ, an average 0.70% on income users service.
 Research implications: main contribution found analysis economic financial viability regarding fee system.
 Originality/value: This article proposes present that can existing mitigate effects flooding site eliminate service public coffers.
